Chat room etiquette
In our daily conversations we have with people we generally try to ensure we do not upset people or are not rude, and this applies to online bingo chat rooms, if not more so, as things are often more open to misinterpretation. So there is an etiquette, or certain guidelines that sites often have in order to ensure their chat rooms are polite and respectful of all players.
Just remember that everyone in chat is a real person, so speak to them as you would like to be spoken to, what are their interests, what are they doing with their day etc. have some fun, you don’t need to take things too seriously but just be mindful of players feelings.
Try to avoid typing in CAPITAL LETTERS, as in the online world this is seen to be shouting and can be rude. But don’t worry too much about spelling errors or typo’s these can be laughed off. Also keep the language fun and light, some people may get offended by swearing or rude comments.
With online bingo you get the chance to give yourself a weird and wonderful chat name, but please remember the players around you and try to select a name that will not offend. Please also do not impersonate other players, there’s really no need to, you are your own character!
And finally don’t forget the Chat Master, they are there to help you if required and make sure there is plenty of fun in the chat room, so no matter what site you are on please show some respect to the CM who, at the end of the day, wants you to enjoy yourself!
The chat room is a place where many players get together to have a laugh and meet people so just enjoy it!
